Mortimer Hall Pre-school
Mortimer Hall Pre-School Meets in Mortimer Hall week days during school term times and is open to local children from the age of 2 years 6 months (2 ½) until school age. Mortimer Hall Pre-school have increased the sessions they are open. They currently (October 2008) have vacancies for children 2 ½ to 5 years. Mortimer Hall Pre-school is open 9 sessions a week during term time. Monday to Friday 9.15 to 11.45am and Monday to Thursday 12.30 to 3pm. Each day a lunch club is available enabling children to extend their session to 3 ¼ hours if wished. Children who have an afternoon place at St Nicholas School Foundations stage can attend pre-school for the morning and lunch sessions and then be walked to the school.
The pre-school is Ofsted inspected and the last inspection had a “Good” outcome. Details available at www.ofsted.gov.uk (type 134009 in search box)
The pre-school is registered for 24 children per session. The pre-school works to a ratio of 1:5 for am sessions and 1:4 for pm sessions. (The required ratio is 1: 8 for children over 3 and 1:4 for under 3’s.)
The staff are highly qualified and experienced. Five members have a level 3 qualification (Ofsted require 1 person) and 1 member a level 2. Between them they have 60 years experience of working at the pre-school!
Mortimer Hall Pre-school is committee run, giving parents the opportunity to have a say in the care and education of their child.
Recently funding has been obtained to develop a nature play area at the pre-school we hope to open this in the spring and to celebrate 21 years of the pre-school operating in its present form.
