We have other Brownie, Guide and Ranger groups running in North Oxford on alternative nights of the week.
Adult volunteers as well as girls welcomed.
Adult Volunteers Needed – Girlguiding North Oxford and Marston District
Girlguiding in North Oxford and Marston is currently in real need of more adult volunteers to help us run Rainbow, Brownie, Guide and Ranger units. If we are unable to recruit more adults our waiting lists will continue to grow and we may have to close some units. We are full of enthusiastic girls and young women who love the unique girl only space Girlguiding is able to offer. Through Girlguiding girls and young women can have fun, develop self-esteem and learn new skills.
Girlguiding UK is the United Kingdom's largest voluntary organisation for girls and young women, with around half a million members including about 100,000 trained volunteer adult leaders and supporters. Nationally, we have nearly 50,000 girls waiting to join Girlguiding UK. We are not able to accommodate all these girls at the moment because of a real shortage of adult volunteers.
Volunteering with Girlguiding UK is a great opportunity to develop skills in youth work, leadership and teamwork as well as being great fun! As the country’s largest youth organisation especially for girls and young women we have a fantastic structure in place to help support our volunteers. Volunteers can take part in our leadership training scheme if they wish.
We run units every night Mon-Fri and the age ranges we work with are as follows:
Rainbows 5-7
Brownies 7-10
Guides 10-14
Rangers 14-25
