Boults Lane Development Project

Had meeting.  New plan looked at by Steering Committee, noted roof lowered.

LG has written to Mr Hook to ask Environmental Health rules regarding existing external doors to resist break-ins.  Response:  1) Put steel plate over door or remove match boarding and replace with heave duty plywood.  LG has asked for a quote, but not received a response yet (outstanding since 20/03).

Will invite residents to look at plans, but on hold for a month now pending approval.

Recreation Grounds

Letter received from Football Club to say moving will be over and above and in addition thanks for the £1,000 not taken.

Discussed need for a representative to replace JB – agreed not required.

Started work down Boults Lane.  Can claim money from football foundation once we get the bill.

Recreation ground at the back of Mortimer Hall in a state.  Moving and upkeep of equipment required.  Baring in little roundabout needs to be replaced.  Noted hedges being done now.

Burial Ground

LG to send away for quote for seat
.
Stability of memorials – one or two not secure.  To be dealt with.  PC and CH to lay unstable memorials down.  Owners to pay for re-instatement if they desire.

Highways

Tree overhanging – Salford Road.  Ring Council (Andrew Burchett).  Also manhole by Windsor Crescent.  Pavements in Arlington Drive very poor repair and potholes.

Deep Cleaning going on now – Councillors noted looks very good.

North East Area Committee

AT attended.  Raised issue of Mortimer Hall not receiving committee papers.  NB, WC and AT do not receive.  LG to chase (next meeting 24/4)

Noted that NE AC does not achieve what it’s supposed to.

Parish Council Bulletin

Many thanks for the help in delivery.

Agreed to place a request for volunteers in Marston Times (volunteers to contact GC)

Agreed to get some copies of bulletin to the library.

Any Other Business

NB:  Overhanging trees on pavements – trees causing obstruction when parking on footpath.  Noted County can ask the householder to cut back but they are slow to act.  Park Walk is one example, Oxford Road is another.

MC to look at Nicholas Avenue and speak to CH regarding calling it in.

WC reported Mortimer Hall had spent money on hi fi equipment and arranged it so as to reduce noise but still had received a complaint.  Asked Mr Solaja from Environmental Health to come and have a look, but not arranged a date for this yet.  Agreed will lock the equipment at the setting limit, once agreed.

Complaint regarding Arlington Drive alleyway (dog fouling) would like signs installed and also would like a dog bin but understand these re only in parks.  Noted City Works are cleaning as part of the deep clean.

DH recommends Councillors take a look at the website.  Got email addresses for all Councillors.

Date of Next Meeting

Tuesday, 1st May  at 7:30pm  – The AGM.  Agenda to be agreed.
